Mornington Skin Cancer Centre
Mornington Skin Cancer Centre opened its doors in July 2007. We are committed to the detection and treatment of skin cancers and to achieve this goal, we offer the following services:
Full body skin checks using dermoscopy
Mole mapping including Total Body Photography and MoleMax
Surgical Excisions of skin cancers, including more complicated procedures such as Flaps and Grafts
Non-surgical treatments of skin cancers e.g. Efudix, Aldara, Photodynamic therapy and daylight PDT.
Treatment/ removal of non skin cancer lesions e.g sebaceous cysts, lipomas, skin tags and seborrheic keratoses (also known as “senile warts”, “barnacles” or “wisdom spots”).
Mornington Skin Cancer Centre has many skin check rooms (3 rooms of which are fitted with Molemax machine for molemapping) and two fully equipped operating theatres. Procedures are usually done on a day surgery basis, using local anesthetic, and therefore do not require an overnight stay.
All doctors at MSCC are members of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia, have achieved higher qualifications in skin cancer medicine and surgery and are full time skin cancer doctors.
The nurses at MSCC are trained in dermoscopy & molemapping and hold the SCCA Certificates of Skin Cancer Medicine or Dermoscopy or are currently studying with the aim of achieving this qualification.
